ABOUT MURGATROYDS...
Murgatroyd travel were established 77 years ago, we are one of North Yorkshires major luxury coach operators, offering our popular door-to-door British and European holiday programme, day excursions and private coach hire services.
The company has travelled a long way since the purchase of the first vehicle in 1935 (pictured below) by the late Harold and Elsie Murgatroyd, where it was operated from the little village shop in Thruscross.
The fleet grew and by 1962 unusually for this era, started to travel the length and breadth of the country, it was only a few years later that the first continental tours were introduced into our holiday brochure and as such built our name locally for long distance continental travel.
Today we are still one of the few coach companies that make regular trips to as far afield as Poland and Hungary.
Tour and excursion planning, operational management and customer care are all handled at our Head Office to maintain the quality and high standards that 'Murgatroyds' are committed to. Specialist guide services are arranged by dedicated members of staff, providing Blue Badge and multilingual guides for all types of business.
The maintenance of our Luxury Coach fleet is one of the company’s highest priorities and we operate a large and well-equipped on site workshop. Safety inspections, routine maintenance and repair work are carried out by our highly skilled engineering staff to provide you, our valued customer, with comfortable and safe transport.
We have a large number of modern, immaculate, luxury vehicles available for hire, from mini coaches and 8 seat taxi's to our top specification 49 & 61 seat executive coaches, fully equipped with washroom, drink facilities, air conditioning, in coach entertainment packages and many other features.
